Guy Hennigan started Collecting Soul Records
at 13 years old and D.J`ing at 16years old. Became acknowledged
as one of the worlds foremost authorities on Northern Soul
during the late 70`s and early 80`s. After the closure of
the Wigan Casino Allnighters in 1981. Guy
with d.j. partner Keb Darge became the central d.j’s
in what is now known as Northern Souls finest time. With a
unique and aggressive d.j`ing style Guy and Keb established
" The Top of the World " Allnighters
at Stafford into the U.K`s leading and number one venue. Guy
was also central in finding and discovering many great soul
sounds on his regular record hunting trips all over the U.S.A.
and in particular Detroit and names legends such as Popcorn
Wylie, George Clinton, Don Davis, Pat Lewis, Lorraine Chandler
as friends and colleagues.
Guy plays only 100% vinyl d.j, no c.d`s,
only original label soul and funk 45`s, exclusives etc, etc,
etc.
Guy’s has done a number of TV. Interviews
mostly in the 80`s and 90`s. They did include the most influential
programmes of their day such as " Whistle Test
" and "The Word ". Also loads
of radio including Radio 1, 2, and 4, world
service plus most of the big regional commercial stations.
Clubs & Venues
Guy has d-jayed at every Soul/Northern Soul
venue worth the name. But has only recently teamed up once
again with old d.j. partner Keb Darge, and now its FUNK! Keb
invited Guy to partner him on a weekly basis at the worlds
number one funk venue "Deep Funk " at London’s
Madame JoJo`s. These nights and others have seen
Guy attacking dance-floors with his own upbeat vociferous
d.j. style and a superb blend of rare, exclusive and established
Funk an` Soul 45`S...........
