Blush whose real name is Nicola first started
D.J`ing in 1994 playing in partnership with fellow Dj Touch.
They worked together on pirate station Freak Fm, where special
guests on their show included Booker T, Joey Mustapha and
Grant Nelson. Blush has since worked for several other pirate
stations, which has been a platform for her.
Being a young female D.J`ing in a male dominated
industry is at times hard to be accepted. Dedication
and hard work has enabled Blush to play in some of the finest
clubs and bars around London. These include “Saturday
Sessions” at the Ministry of Sound Kinky Malinky Pacha
(London) & Glitterati, Attica, Glasshouse, Aquarium, Legends,
now known as The Embassy and Propaganda. DJ Blush has played
regularly for Nitelife promotions and has worked alongside
special guests, such as Jocelyn Brown.
Blush has also done a six month contract
in Falaraki Rhodes as a resident in the Saint bar and Sinners
club. Now Blush is playing weekly on a leading house
station (www.pushfm.com) where she hosts her own show on a Saturday
afternoon 12am – 2pm, playing funky, tribal, sexy, soulful
house and anything else that tickles her fancy.
For the Future Blush wants to carry on with her D.J`ing as
well as producing her own tracks.
Some of her favourite producers at the moment are
Harrison Crump, Chris Lum, Jay J, Tom Neville and Dj Gregory
to name but a few.
